Tetra Tech wins $15 million environmental and digital automation contract from City of Los Angeles.

Tetra Tech ( (Code: TTEK) announced that it has been selected by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power to participate in a five-year, $15 million multiple-award contract to provide engineering design and technical services for the Owens Lake Dust Control Project. The project is the largest dust control project in the United States.

Owens Lake is a historic dry lake bed covering an area of 48.6 square miles.

Tetra Tech's engineers and digital automation experts will provide a variety of professional services including geological survey, advanced GIS mapping and hydraulic modeling, civil and structural engineering design, as well as SCADA system, instrumentation and electrical engineering design.

Tetra Tech CEO Roger Argus said the company has supported the dust control project for more than 15 years and has successfully helped the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reduce dust emissions by 99.4%.

Argus said it looks forward to using the latest technology through a "science-led" approach to continue to provide quality services for this critical project that protects human health and the environment. This contract is another important project that Tetra Tech has recently won in the Los Angeles area.

Previously, the company had signed an environmental engineering services agreement with the Port of Los Angeles and provided water treatment plant control system modernization services to the West Basin Groundwater District.
