The German government will provide state guarantees of up to 11.5 billion euros ($13.1 billion) to support a cruise ship construction contract between shipbuilder Meyer Werft GmbH and Swiss cruise operator MSC Cruises. According to people familiar with the matter, the German Bundestag Budget Committee decided at a closed meeting on Wednesday that the federal government should provide the above-mentioned guarantee including interest.
