China Ruilin announced after the market closed on July 8 that the company and BHPOLYMPIC DAM CORPORATION PTY LTD (hereinafter referred to as "Olympic Dam Co., Ltd." and the "owner") signed a design and supply framework agreement contract (hereinafter referred to as the "Contract") for the Olympic Dam Smelter and Refinery Expansion Project in South Australia, with a contract value of approximately AUD 240 million (equivalent to approximately RMB 1.1233 billion). This expansion project aims to implement the development plan of Australia's BHP Billiton Company (hereinafter referred to as "BHP") to expand South Australia's copper production capacity, increase the scale of Olympic Dam copper smelting and refining processing, and achieve efficient and comprehensive processing of multiple types of ore bodies in the region. China Ruilin provides design services and equipment supply. Olympic Dam Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BHP and is responsible for operating the Olympic Dam (Olympic Dam) mining and smelting facilities located in northern South Australia. Its main business is the mining and processing of polymetallic ores. The core product is copper. At the same time, by-products include uranium, gold, silver, etc. The contract will be implemented in phases, as the owner advances the project and finalizes investment decisions for the smelter and refinery expansion project in the second half of 2027. The effective date of the contract is to be determined, the completion date is tentatively set at the beginning of 2032, and the termination date is at the beginning of 2034 (unless the contract is terminated early). China Ruilin stated that the signing of the South Australia Smelting and Refining Expansion Project Framework Agreement Contract between the company and Olympic Dam Co., Ltd. will have a positive impact on the company's operations and long-term strategic development. It will help the company accumulate experience in high-end overseas projects and localized operations, and enhance its international brand influence. According to China Ruilin, the expansion project will help BHP achieve its South Australian copper production target: increase to 500,000 tons per year by 2030, and is expected to further increase to 650,000 tons per year before 2040. It is not only an important deployment of BHP's related growth plan in South Australia, but also a major landmark achievement of China Ruilin's deep penetration into the global high-end copper metallurgical market.
