AIRO completes first operational delivery equipped with Zentra camera system
AIRO Group Holdings, Inc. announced that it has completed the delivery of a batch of UAV system orders in the second quarter of 2026, marking the first actual deployment of its new Zentra camera system on the RQ-35 Heidrun UAV. The Zentra sensor suite was developed by AIRO subsidiary Sky-Watch and is specially designed for the Sky-Watch RQ series drone platform, integrating mission awareness and navigation functions into a compact architecture. The system has electro-optical/infrared sensing, thermal imaging detection, long-range visual recognition capabilities, and provides navigation support in the restricted environment of global navigation satellite systems. In addition, the system also integrates AI-driven analysis functions, a 360-degree panoramic camera, 4K video and still image shooting capabilities, and a 50x continuous zoom function. AIRO CEO Joe Burns said that mastering its own imaging technology fundamentally changes the value the company can provide to customers, allowing it to directly control the most critical capabilities in complex mission environments. As the Allied Forces' demand for higher-accuracy, more reliable intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance grows, building this capability in-house through Sky-Watch allows the company to respond more quickly and make precise adjustments to field operational needs. This delivery is an important progress in the execution of AIRO’s product roadmap and reflects the company’s overall strategy of building a differentiated, vertically integrated UAV system platform. The integration of proprietary products such as Zentra helps expand platform autonomy and operational flexibility, while supporting the company's long-term plan to expand its proprietary product portfolio, diversify revenue sources, and reduce revenue volatility. Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with operations covering the United States, Canada and Denmark, AIRO is a new generation aerospace and defense technology company oriented to the defense, security and commercial markets. It provides solutions with drone platforms as the core through a vertical integration model.
