Tesla ordered to sprint to produce 100,000 Optimus units per year, Musk: It must be achieved!

On July 9, according to domestic media LatePost, multiple sources familiar with Tesla’s supply chain revealed that Tesla has recently issued specific Optimus parts procurement guidelines to suppliers. Tesla requires that production capacity be increased to 1,000 units per week by September this year and 2,000 to 2,500 units per week by the end of the year.

Based on the weekly production capacity at the end of the year, suppliers will have the annualized ability to supply Tesla with approximately 100,000 units of Optimus components. It is reported that Musk reviewed and approved the latest version of Optimus at an executive meeting at the end of June before issuing the purchase order.

This marks that Optimus Gen 3, which has been in development for more than three years, has finally entered the finalization stage. It is expected that no further changes will be made, and it is about to enter the substantial stage of mass production.

According to media reports, Musk gave a clear order to the team at the meeting: the production capacity target must be achieved before the end of the year, otherwise the entire Optimus procurement team will be replaced. Some supply chain sources said that this reflects Tesla’s determination better than any order guidance on paper. (
