Emerging market stock indexes fell on Monday, dragged down by a sell-off in South Korea's artificial intelligence (AI)-related stocks, while escalating tensions in the Middle East and rising oil prices sent most emerging market currencies lower. The MSCI emerging market stock index fell about 2.4% to close at its lowest level since May 20. South Korea's Composite Stock Price Index (Kospi) fell nearly 9% after the share price of South Korea's SK Hynix plunged and triggered a market-wide trading halt.
