Nvidia and Toyota deepen cooperation in AI field and expand to smart cities and smart factories
Supply artificial intelligence (AI) hardware and software to support smart city construction, transportation intelligence systems and automobile manufacturing plant operations, further deepening the two parties' ten-year partnership that began with the research and development of autonomous vehicles. Nvidia said in a statement on Thursday that the two companies will deepen their cooperation and strive to implement AI in the real world. The two parties have also previously collaborated with U.S.-based Ready Robotics to develop software to help improve safety and productivity on the factory floor. "We are expanding our cooperation to promote the development of physical AI from the automotive field to robotics and smart cities," said Deepu Talla, vice president of robotics and edge AI at NVIDIA. This year, promoting AI out of data centers and directly applied to terminal equipment and various types of machines has become the focus of the entire industry. Nvidia co-founder and CEO Jensen Huang led a delegation to Japan this week to expand business and drum up enthusiasm for the potential of its new technology. Earlier this week, Huang’s long-time friend and fellow AI staunch advocate Masayoshi Son At the SoftBank World event, he said that doubts about excessive investment in AI are "extremely stupid" and called on Japanese companies to seize the opportunities at hand.
