Uber agrees to acquire German food delivery company Delivery Hero in deal valuing the latter at $14.8 billion
Uber has agreed to acquire German food delivery company Delivery Hero SE in a deal that values the latter at $14.8 billion. Uber confirmed in an announcement on Thursday that it had offered to acquire the majority of Delivery Hero's global business, covering 50 markets, for 41.50 euros ($47.60) per share. This also confirms earlier media reports. As part of the deal, Uber acquired all of Delivery Hero’s majority shareholder, Amsterdam-listed Prosus NV. The deal also includes investment firm SSW Partners acquiring 14 market businesses for approximately $1.6 billion. SSW will seek buyers for the assets, which include business subsidiaries in Austria, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
