Tetra Tech wins $25 million water quality monitoring contract from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Tetra Tech ( Code: TTEK) recently announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Water Resources, Standards and Health Protection Division, has awarded it a five-year, $25 million contract to provide high-end technical services to assess and manage risks to human health and aquatic ecosystems.

According to the contract, Tetra Tech’s scientists and technical experts will assist the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, states and communities to achieve and maintain clean water resources and ensure safe drinking water, fisheries and recreational water needs.

Specific work includes: providing risk assessments, advanced data analysis and economic analysis to support the development of water quality standards; monitoring chemical contaminants in fish and microbial pathogens in surface waters to inform prevention and remediation strategies; developing public engagement methods, technical guidance and conducting workshops to promote community input and knowledge sharing with state and local governments.
