NVIDIA deepens cooperation with Japan to lay out "sovereign artificial intelligence" and industrial robot network.

During his recent visit to Japan, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced a series of major cooperation agreements with the Japanese government and local industries. NVIDIA will fully participate in Japan's "Sovereign AI" infrastructure construction and "Physical AI" industrial layout, trying to deepen the Japanese market through technology export.

The center is expected to be put into operation in 2028. At that time, approximately 27,500 NVIDIA next-generation "Rubin" architecture graphics processors (GPUs) will be deployed to develop local multi-modal large language models and focus on empowering the fields of industrial automation, robotics and automobile manufacturing.

At the same time, Nvidia announced the further expansion of its strategic cooperation with SoftBank Group.

SoftBank is building Japan's largest artificial intelligence supercomputer based on Nvidia's Blackwell and Grace Blackwell chip architecture, and is taking the lead in piloting artificial intelligence radio access network (AI-RAN) technology based on 5G networks to build a basic computing network covering Japan.

Analysts pointed out that in the context of losing some large overseas markets due to the impact of U.S. export controls, NVIDIA is accelerating its strategic focus to allied markets such as Europe and Japan, and boosting hardware infrastructure sales by exporting the concept of "sovereign artificial intelligence".
