Betterware strengthens board of directors and innovation team after completing Tupperware Latin America acquisition
Mexican consumer product platform Betterware de México (NYSE: BWMX) recently announced two important personnel arrangements to promote integration and innovation following the recent acquisition of Tupperware's Latin American business. The company appointed two senior executives to its board of directors and hired a research and development strategy consultant. According to company sources, the newly appointed board members include Juan Pajón and Arquímedes Celis. Pajón is currently the head of customer success and global innovation at Oracle. He was the global chief technology officer and CEO of Grupo Bimbo. The head of IT in Latin America will provide support for the company's digital transformation. Celis is currently a director of Grupo Lala and Pilgrim’s Pride. With 18 years of experience as CEO of Grupo Lala, Celis will strengthen the company’s strategic capabilities in the consumer field. They succeed Martín Werner and Silvia Davila, who retired. In addition, Betterware has hired David Kusuma as a strategic research and development advisor, effective July 6. Kusuma has more than 20 years of product research and development experience, led Tupperware's global research and development department, and served as Chairman of the World Design Organization from 2022 to 2024. Betterware recently completed the acquisition of Tupperware's Latin American business for US$250 million, obtaining the permanent exclusive license for the brand in Latin America. The company plans to reverse Tupperware's sales decline in the region by restarting innovation and optimizing its business model.
