Nvidia releases new details of Vera CPU! U.S. stocks closed higher across the board, chip stocks exploded.

On July 21, local time, U.S. stocks opened higher and moved higher, with the three major indexes collectively closing higher. Among them, the Dow rose nearly 400 points, and the S&P 500 rebounded after falling for three consecutive days.

As of the close, the Dow rose 0.74% to 52,224.64 points, the S&P 500 rose 0.89% to 7,509.2 points, and the Nasdaq rose 1.29% to 25,837.21 points. Large-cap technology stocks in the U.S. closed with mixed gains, with the Wind Seven U.S. Technology Index rising 0.09%.

In terms of individual stocks, Tesla rose by more than 2%, Nvidia rose by nearly 2%; Google and Microsoft fell by more than 1%. Chip stocks performed strongly, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index up 5.21%, Micron Technology up over 12%, Intel and AMD up over 8%, ARM and Applied Materials up over 7%, Marvell Technology up over 6%, and TSMC up over 5%.

In terms of Chinese concept stocks, the Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index fell 0.68%. Among them, NetEase fell by more than 3%, SoYoung rose by nearly 9%, and Dingdong Maicai rose by more than 4%.

On July 21, Nvidia announced more details about its data center CPU "Vera", including technical specifications, performance test results, chip architecture and other information to help potential customers comprehensively evaluate the product. Nvidia said that Vera chips were delivered to customers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX in June this year.

NVIDIA has always been regarded as a bellwether in the information technology industry, but it is still in a challenger position in the CPU field and needs to compete with two mature competitors - Intel and AMD.

These two companies have been deeply involved in the server CPU market for a long time and have established deep cooperative relationships with ultra-large-scale cloud computing manufacturers. The increase in CPU is another manifestation of Nvidia's vertical integration strategy.

The company hopes to independently develop more chips and technologies needed within the system every year, and eventually sell Rack computing systems to customers instead of just selling individual chips.

NVIDIA believes that this strategy can further release GPU performance and help its artificial intelligence (AI) system continue to become the platform of choice for leading AI laboratories in the face of competition from AMD and various customized AI chips.
