Tesla recently announced that it delivered a total of more than 480,000 cars in the second quarter, significantly exceeding analysts' forecasts. Tesla recently announced that it delivered a total of more than 480,000 cars in the second quarter, significantly exceeding analysts' forecasts. The report also shows that Tesla's adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) in the second quarter was US$3.273 billion, a decrease of 4% year-on-year. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Tesla’s earnings conference call that despite the current tight supply and high prices of memory chips, Micron Technology’s supply conditions to Tesla are very reasonable. The new energy storage gigafactory located in Texas, USA, will start producing the third-generation Megapack and Megablock energy storage systems in 2026 as planned. In terms of artificial intelligence and software, Tesla revealed that the company has begun to push assisted driving v14 lite to early customers equipped with AI3 assisted driving hardware in the US and Korean markets. This software version migrates the driving behavior capabilities of the v14 series of AI4 assisted driving hardware to the camera and computing power configuration of AI3 assisted driving hardware, bringing functions such as destination options and speed configuration. The optional rate of assisted driving in North America has reached a record high, with more than half of new cars subscribed to assisted driving at the time of delivery. In the markets of Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark and Belgium, Tesla's latest assisted driving has been approved; as of July, customers in these countries have driven more than 50 million kilometers using assisted driving. At this financial report meeting, Tesla did not disclose more content about promoting assisted driving in the Chinese market. In terms of driverless online ride-hailing services, Tesla said that the company's Cyber driverless electric vehicle has begun production. This is an electric car specially built for autonomous driving and aims to become the main model of Tesla’s driverless online ride-hailing fleet. Starting in July, Tesla will provide employees with Tesla Cyber driverless electric vehicle test ride services at the Texas Gigafactory campus. Tesla is preparing to expand its driverless ride-hailing service to more U.S. cities, including testing, licensing approvals and training for first-line emergency responders. Tesla’s driverless ride-hailing service without a safety driver has been expanded to the entire Austin metropolitan area and launched in Miami, Orlando and Tampa in July.
