Verizon's adjusted earnings per share in the second quarter were $1.30, compared with $1.22 in the same period a year ago, and the consensus estimate was $1.27. Verizon's adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in the second quarter were US$13.7 billion, compared with the estimate of US$13.65 billion. Verizon's second-quarter operating income was US$34.3 billion, compared with the expected US$35.17 billion.
