The cause of the hidden danger is insufficient protection of the wiring harness in the engine compartment. During long-term driving of the vehicle, the wires may be exposed and cause a short circuit. If a short circuit occurs, smoke may emit from the air outlet of the vehicle's air conditioner, and a warning message will pop up on the instrument panel. In severe cases, a fire may start directly near the passenger side of the engine compartment, posing a threat to driving safety. Ford Motor Company has assessed that approximately 1% of recalled vehicles are expected to have this wiring harness defect. So far, the company has received no reports of traffic accidents or casualties related to this hazard. In response to the above safety defects, Ford authorized dealers will install new wiring harness guards for free on vehicles within the scope of the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
