France's Dassault Systèmes spends US$2 billion to acquire Aris Global to deepen life sciences AI layout
French software giant Dassault Systèmes recently announced that it has reached a final agreement to acquire Aris Global, a US life sciences compliance software company, with a total transaction value of up to US$2 billion. Under the agreement, Dassault Systèmes will pay approximately $1.8 billion in cash upon closing, with additional payments of up to $200 million based on AI-related revenue milestones over the next few years. The acquisition comes after Dassault Systèmes released better-than-expected second-quarter earnings. The financial report shows that the company’s revenue for the quarter reached 1.56 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 4%, mainly due to the accelerated growth of subscription sales. Founded in 1989, ArisGlobal's AI-native enterprise compliance platform serves more than 200 customers around the world, including half of the world's top 50 biopharmaceutical companies. It processes more than 12 million patient safety reports annually and is expected to generate revenue of approximately US$175 million in 2026. Pascal Daloz, chairman and CEO of Dassault Systèmes, said the deal is an important milestone in the company's vision to "transform the life sciences industry by connecting molecules, patients and real-world outcomes." By integrating ArisGlobal's strengths in regulatory operations and real-world evidence management, Dassault Systèmes aims to establish a unified data and intelligence platform to help customers solve long-term challenges in drug development and accelerate innovative therapies to market. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026 and is expected to be accretive to revenue in the first year after closing. Earnings per share have a value-added effect.
