[NVIDIA makes a “significant” investment in a company founded by OpenAI’s former chief scientist] Financial News reported on July 27 that NVIDIA said it had made a “significant” investment in Safe Superintelligence Inc., co-founded by OpenAI’s former chief scientist Ilya Sutskever and others. According to a joint statement released by the two parties on Monday, in addition to receiving investment, Safe Superintelligence will also obtain the right to use Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Safe Superintelligence has previously raised about $3 billion from investors and was valued at $32 billion last year. Its investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital and DST Global. Nvidia shares fell 2.3% to $202.13 on Monday.
