Gold, silver rise at the Wednesday New York close; copper slips.

On Wednesday, July 29, at the New York close, spot gold rose 0.87% to $4,064.63 per ounce, trading in a range of $3,996.06-$4,116.47. Since 00:52 Beijing time, it had shown a spike-and-pullback pattern, and at 03:02 it hit a fresh intraday high as the Federal Reserve press conference was nearing its end. COMEX gold futures rose 0.91% to $4,123.30 per ounce.

Spot silver rose 0.80% to $57.6059 per ounce. COMEX silver futures rose 0.78% to $57.825 per ounce. COMEX copper futures fell 0.18% to $6.3480 per pound, after rebounding from around $6.32 at 02:00 and setting a fresh intraday high of $6.4315. Spot platinum rose 0.54%, while spot palladium fell 0.40%.
