Microsoft fourth-quarter revenue tops estimates as Azure revenue passes $100 billion
Microsoft reported fourth-quarter revenue of $90.01 billion, topping analysts’ estimate of $87.72 billion. Cloud revenue in the quarter was $59.3 billion, compared with analysts’ forecast of $58.71 billion. Azure and other cloud revenue, excluding the impact of foreign exchange, rose 43%, above analysts’ expected growth of 39.6%. Azure revenue surpassed $100 billion. Intelligent Cloud revenue came in at $39.31 billion, ahead of analysts’ estimate of $38.17 billion. Operating income was $40.6 billion, versus analysts’ expectation of $39.02 billion. Microsoft’s 365 commercial cloud revenue increased 16% in the quarter. Capital expenditures totaled $35.8 billion, above the $35.22 billion analysts had expected. Adjusted earnings per share were $4.74, beating the consensus estimate of $4.25. Investment in Anthropic contributed $3.2 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter.
