Euro tops 1.1467 as major currencies move in New York trading
On Wednesday (July 29) in New York late trading, the euro rose more than 0.6% against the U.S. dollar, hitting a session high of 1.1467 after Fed Chair Wosh’s press conference ended. The British pound rose 0.51% against the dollar, while the Swiss franc gained 0.54% against the dollar. Among commodity currencies, the Australian dollar’s gain narrowed to 0.32%, the New Zealand dollar rose 0.32%, and the Canadian dollar fell 0.46% against the U.S. dollar. The Swedish krona rose 0.42% against the dollar, the Norwegian krone rose 0.92%, and the Danish krone gained 0.61%. The Polish zloty rose 0.57% against the dollar, while the U.S. dollar rose 0.32% against the Hungarian forint.
