Tesla is considering spinning off its China business to pave the way for a potential merger with SpaceX, The Wall Street Journal reported. A Reuters reporter asked Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning on July 31 for Beijing’s response to the report during a regular news conference that she chaired. “I am not familiar with the specific situation you mentioned,” Mao said. “As a matter of principle, we have consistently opposed broadening the concept of national security and discriminatory actions targeting China.”
