U.S. storage-chip index falls 28.6% in July; Amazon rises 15.6% on Friday
In July, the U.S. storage-chip index fell 28.6%, while the semiconductor index dropped 19.8%. The index tracking the seven major U.S. technology companies rose 4.9%. The S&P 500 was roughly unchanged, the Dow rose 0.5%, the Nasdaq fell 2.5%, and the bank index gained 3.4%.
