Nasdaq gains more than 2% as major U.S. stock indexes rise
The Nasdaq Composite rose more than 2% on Aug. 3, while the S&P 500 gained 1.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 1%.\n\nThe Nasdaq-100 rose more than 1.5%, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index gained 0.6%, and the Russell 2000 rose more than 1.6%.
