Front-month ICE Brent crude’s October contract, the new front-month contract, fell $4.16 a barrel, or 4.73%, to settle at $83.77 on Aug. 3, 2026. It was the biggest one-day dollar and percentage decline since July 28, 2026. Brent fell in five of the past seven trading sessions. The settlement was the lowest since July 13, 2026.

It was down 29.22% from the 52-week high of $118.35 set on March 31, 2026, and up 42.18% from the 52-week low of $58.92 set on Dec. 16, 2025. Brent was up 21.83% from a year earlier. It was also down 29.22% from the 2026 settlement-price high of $118.35 set on March 31, 2026, and up 39.71% from the 2026 settlement-price low of $59.96 set on Jan. 7, 2026.

The contract was down 42.65% from the record high of $146.08 set on July 3, 2008. Year to date, Brent was up $22.92 a barrel, or 37.67%. All price comparisons are based on the settlement price of the current front-month contract.
