Storage and hardware index falls 3.73% as Western Digital drops 13.03%

The index made a sharp V-shaped move during the early U.S. session, reaching a session low of 179.46 points at 9:32 a.m. ET, equivalent to 9:32 p.m. Beijing time. It held near 192 points from 10 a.m. ET onward. Among the index constituents, Western Digital fell 13.03% at the close, while SanDisk dropped 6.81%. Micron Technology, Applied Materials and Teradyne fell as much as 1.31%. Lam Research declined 0.54%. Rambus rose 0.39%, and Seagate Technology gained 1.83%. SK Hynix's American depositary receipt fell 4.97%.
