Amazon Pharmacy to offer GLP-1 weight-loss drugs to Medicare Part D patients
Amazon Pharmacy said Medicare Part D patients can now obtain certain GLP-1 weight-loss drugs through the service. Medicare Part D patients are people enrolled in the prescription drug benefit program within the federal Medicare system. They are typically U.S. citizens or legal residents age 65 or older, or people eligible for Medicare because of certain disabilities. To enroll in Part D, they must already have Medicare Part A, which covers hospital care, or Part B, which covers outpatient care. Zepbound KwikPen and oral and injectable versions of Foundayo will be available for $50 per month, with free home delivery. Amazon said it offers same-day delivery at more than 3,100 locations nationwide, and customers do not need a Prime membership. The drugs are being offered through the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program, a temporary federal program that runs through Dec. 31, 2027. It allows eligible Medicare Part D members who meet specific clinical criteria to obtain prescription drugs for weight management. “Once a patient’s clinician sends the prescription, the rest is up to us. We’ll deliver the medication to the patient’s doorstep,” said Tanvi Patel, vice president and general manager of Amazon Pharmacy. In April 2026, Amazon announced a program to provide GLP-1 treatments through its One Medical primary-care division. The program offers GLP-1 pills for $25 per month with insurance and a self-pay option for $149 per month. Amazon said the program is available at One Medical locations nationwide.
