Barrick Names Sebastian Bock CEO of Operations Outside North America
Barrick Mining Corp. appointed Sebastian Bock as CEO of its operations outside North America, the latest executive move in Chairman John Thornton’s plan to advance a proposed IPO later this year that would spin off the company’s most valuable assets. The company said Tuesday that Bock, who previously oversaw its Africa and Middle East operations, will lead all of Barrick’s assets in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia-Pacific in the newly created role. He will report directly to CEO Mark Hill, who was appointed Monday to lead Barrick’s planned new North American business after the IPO.
