Ed Yardeni, president and chief investment strategist at Yardeni Research, raised his target for the S&P 500 to 8,400 after what he described as “excellent” corporate earnings performance, making it the highest target on Wall Street. Yardeni’s previous target of 8,250 was also the highest in the industry.

He left his target for the S&P 500 to reach 10,000 in 2029 unchanged. Yardeni also raised his S&P 500 earnings-per-share forecasts. He increased the 2026 forecast to $375 from $330 and the 2027 forecast to $415 from $375.
