Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to Invest $12 Million in Company Stock Offering
Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan will spend $12 million of his own money, along with a family member, to participate in the company’s expanded stock offering, which would bring the offering to $20 billion. Daniel Newman, an executive at Futurum Group, said the move represents a powerful vote of confidence in Intel. According to a prospectus supplement Intel filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, Tan and a family member agreed to purchase a combined $12 million of Intel stock as part of the offering. Intel said Tuesday that it would issue 210,526,315 shares at $95 per share. The move increased the total size of the offering to $20 billion, from the $15 billion announced the previous day. The company also granted underwriters a 30-day option to purchase an additional 31,578,947 shares. Newman highlighted Tan’s investment in a post on X. “Lip-Bu Tan is investing $12 million of his own money in Intel’s stock offering. This should be viewed as a powerful signal of confidence in Intel’s future prospects,” he wrote.
