LG Electronics and Nvidia Sign Cooperation Pact on Robots, AI Factories and Mobility
LG Electronics said Friday that it plans to launch a next-generation bipedal humanoid robot based on Nvidia’s robotics platform in the first quarter of 2027. The South Korean technology giant said the companies signed a memorandum of understanding at Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California. LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang attended the signing ceremony. The robot will use Nvidia’s Jetson Thor robotics chip module and will be developed with Nvidia’s Isaac GR00T humanoid robotics foundation model and Holoscan for Robotics, the company’s robotics safety system. LG plans to integrate the technology and capabilities of its major subsidiaries into the robot, including actuators from LG Electronics, sensors from LG Innotek and batteries from LG Energy Solution Ltd. The companies also agreed to pursue broad cooperation in three areas: robotics, artificial intelligence factories and mobility.
