More Than 10% of LG Innotek’s First-Half Revenue Likely Came From Apple
LG Innotek, an electronics-components maker under South Korea’s LG Group, said in a first-half report released Friday in South Korea that its revenue for the first half of the year reached a record high for the same period. From January through June, revenue from one customer totaled KRW 8.84 trillion, or USD 6.24 billion, and accounted for more than 10% of LG Innotek’s total first-half revenue. The customer’s business spans optical modules and packaging. LG Innotek said the sales represented the highest amount it had generated from a single customer during the first six months of any year. The company did not officially identify the customer. Based on the sales amount and LG Innotek’s business structure, the customer was likely Apple, which receives key iPhone components from LG Innotek, including camera modules and substrates.
